There are shelters dotted all over the Kansas City Metro area. Some shelters are well known and publish their addresses whereas others keep their locations confidential especially if they have residents that are seeking refuge there.

SAFEHOME's services have grown tremendously over the last 10 years. Services focus on education, prevention, crisis-intervention and long-term community support, including:

SAFEHOME is one of six metro domestic violence shelters, and is the only program of services for victims of domestic violence in Johnson County.

Sheffield Place is a shelter for homeless women and their children. They provide long-term shelter and comprehensive services to fifteen families. Their purpose is to help families increase their income and educational levels, obtain and retain permanent housing, and ultimately achieve greater self-determination, respect and happiness.
